Magic Monday

Well ladies and gentlemen, we have 3 Mondays left in the regular school year. It is time to start celebrating! If the upcoming weekends go as well as this past weekend, the rest of the school year should fly by!

Saturday I went to CT to see my loves- we had a blast. They dressed me up in traditional bachelorette gear of sash, flip flops, tiara, garter and a lei (is that how that's spelled??). We went to dinner at Kelly's in New Haven and it was a really nice restaurant. After dinner we went to see Beauty and the Beast at the Shubert. SUCH A GREAT TIME! I love Beauty and the Beast, for people who don't know it was the first movie that I saw in theaters and I even have Beauty and the Beast sheets. The show was great, even though the Shubert was running on a back up generator. After the show we waited at the stage door and I got the signatures of Belle and Gaston. I also got my picture taken with Gaston...who was a very muscular man! We went to a bar after the show and had s'mores, roasted right at the table, and danced until midnight. We had a mini sleepover, a nice light breakfast and I was back to Boston.

Saturday was just what I needed- thank you to all my loves!!!!

Getting Stressed Out!

I've had a really tough week. Tomorrow is Friday and it feels like Monday was a month ago.

Tuesday we had our meeting about when to tell the kids about the transitions going on next year. They presented their idea as an "idea" that could be changed, but it really seemed like regardless of how we felt, this would how it would be. I even talked with my boss after the meeting and she said, "We will make this work, don't worry." I left really upset, and don't feel much better now.

Wednesday I got an e-mail from our priest that is performing the ceremony. He is being reassigned this summer, so he doesn't feel like it will be possible for him to travel. No travel means no wedding ceremony. So now I have to find a new officiant. Hopefully the priest at the church is still available for that day. Cross your fingers.

Today I got news about the reception set up. It isn't what I thought it would be, and there isn't the possibility of doing it the way I wanted.

I know these seem small and insignificant, but I just feel so overwhelmed that things keep going wrong.

This weekend will hopefully make the whole thing better!!

Monday!

There are 4 Mondays left in the regular school year! How crazy is that?? There are actually 6 weeks left but Monday is out of the way this week and we have Memorial Day off in a couple of weeks. Midquarter is Wednesday, so it is time to see how the students have been doing!

I'm really excited about this weekend. I get to go to CT for a gathering with my bridesmaids. It is difficult with us living so far apart, the closest girl to me is just over an hour and we still don't see each other on a regular basis. I'm not sure what we are doing, because no one will tell me, but I know that no matter what it will just be nice to see everyone! The only decision that I need to make is whether to drive to CT on Friday or Saturday.

We are having a meeting at school tomorrow to decide when to tell the kids that I am leaving. The meeting was introduced as a "transitional meeting" and just me leaving isn't a transition, so I wonder what else we will be talking about. I'm interested to see what they will say and how they will want me to tell the kids. Stay tuned to see what they say...!

I'm Sorry!

First off, I apologize to anyone who has checked this blog in the past few weeks and found no new posts. I know how frustrating it can be, and I really apologize.

There are less than 80 days until our wedding! My sister is keeping a countdown going on Facebook, and I can't believe how close we are getting. I've had some minor meltdowns in the past few days, but I think everything will work out ok. Wedding invitations NEED to be addressed and assembled this week so that we can mail them by next weekend. Speaking of next weekend, I'm heading to CT with my LOVES for a bachelorette weekend!! I'm really excited, I can't wait to see three of my four bestests!

J told his work and foundation that he is leaving and has been applying for jobs. I registered for two praxis tests that I have to take in order to get my license. Hopefully we will both find jobs soon!

I am going to post again tomorrow! I promise!

Officially Ours...

Ohio was great. J and I drove straight through on the 16th and made it to Ohio around 3am on Saturday. We got 5 hours of sleep and then headed to the bank to put our wedding bands in the safe deposit box and then to the house! We unlocked our home and it was amazing!!! We bought an air mattress and slept there the whole week. I even got to use my jacuzzi tub before we started deconstructing the bathroom!

House Progress:

Living Room- We started taking the border down in the living room. I thought this would be a good place to start because it is small, and only around the top of the wall. WRONG!!!! In the process I learned that there is new wallpaper (border in living room) and old wallpaper (ugly bathroom wallpaper). The border is not down, and we are going to end up having someone come in and finish the mess that I started!

Master Bathroom- Once I learned about old wallpaper and how easy (yet time consuming) it is to take down, we switched tasks. The master bathroom was stripped of wallpaper, stripped of adhesive, patched, primed and painted. Seems like a lot, but we still need to put on one more coat of paint. Color chosen? Soft Duckling.

Wedding Progress:
Cupcakes! The Freeman wedding will be different because it will have cupcakes instead of cake. We will still cut the cupcake, it will just be smaller and easier to shove in J's mouth...I can't wait! The bakery that we are going with is called Blake's Cafe & Cupcakery. Please read about the bakery on the website http://www.basketfanfare.com/option/home.asp The family that owns the cupcakery has an autistic son, and they donate proceeds from their business to help children with autism!

Dress! Bought, mine, paid for, so excited! I got my veil and my shoes as well.(Thanks Mom!) The dress is perfect and I can't WAIT to wear it on my wedding day! I have to reschedule my fitting because it conflicts with my Praxis tests that I have to take, but that's ok- it will all get done!!!!

That's all for now, I'm going to go eat some lunch.

One More Day...

One day of school stands between me and my house! I can't wait, we are leaving tomorrow as soon as I get out of work. The buses better be on time!!!! One of my co-workers is getting married on Saturday so we all put in some money to get him a card and a gift certificate. We have been the engaged people at work since he got here and I am going to miss having that in common with someone. Maybe Caroline will get engaged soon!! A bunch of students won't be in the building tomorrow. Hopefully it will be a smooth, quiet day. I'm hoping to put up a bunch of pictures of the trip to Ohio in the next week! Stay tuned...

Update!

I'm bad at blogging! I read my blog more than I write in it. Let's get an update as to what's going on.

Wedding:
I have my first fitting scheduled for the 24th of April. I am very excited, and very nervous! I haven't seen my dress since November, and I am looking forward to seeing it again! Invitations came in the mail last week. They are beautiful- not a single thing wrong with them! I was so relieved and excited. I sent one to my mom, she is working on something secret, but I was glad that she got to see an invitation now. I also brought one to work to show one of my co-workers. More about her later!

House:
The countdown is on! Friday afternoon we leave for Ohio and I can't wait!!!!! I still don't feel like a true homeowner because I've never actually been to my house. We want to move stuff, paint walls and buy furniture next week- I think it will be a blast! We packed a lot of breakables and decorations last night. I hope they all make it!

School:
The students are being testy, and the closer we get to the end of the school year the closer we get to me having to tell them that I'm leaving. Most of my co-workers don't even know yet. I think there is a meeting tomorrow where the list of staff (I'm told there is a list) not returning next year will be revealed. I'm interested to see how the meeting goes.

I have been talking a lot with one of the girls that I work with. She is really sweet and I've opened up to her about a lot of wedding stuff and house stuff. She has been so supportive and positive that it makes it hard for me to think of leaving her. I have even wrestled with sending her a wedding invitation. I know she probably won't come, but I want her to know that I really value her friendship and that I am thankful for everything she has done!

Time to pack up the cats! We are going on a trip. They need to get used to being in the car.
