Olde Canal Days

Although we experienced the majority of summer in Ohio last year, we did miss out on a few early summer experiences. One of those experiences is Olde Canal Days. It's a cute street fair that they hold downtown every year. J and I went down tonight and had some good food, delicious homemade limeade and J even got a frozen chocolate covered banana from the Cub Scouts. We are planning on going back Saturday morning- there is a parade, and Saturday evening- fireworks! Besides that we don't really have a lot of July 4th plans. We will try to find some fireworks in the area and maybe do something exciting. My sister is coming in less than two weeks and tomorrow is a Bon Jovi tribute band in Akron. I will definitely be posting on that!! I can't wait!

Sweet Summertime!

It is summer, and since I am a teacher, I am home! I've actually been home for a month and I've enjoyed every minute of it. The day after I got out of school I drove to CT for a bunch of different things.

My sister is in 8th grade and they don't "graduate" but they have a special dance called Class Night. I got to take a pedicure, her hair done, and I got to take a bunch of pictures. She looked absolutely gorgeous, and I've decided we are changing her name to Sammi Jo. Here are just two gorgeous pictures I took of her....breath taking!
Her dress was gorgeous, blue with dark blue zebra print!
A close up of my beautiful sister!

The "true" reason I went to New England was for the bachelorette party and bridal shower of one of my dearest friends! We went to a Brad Paisley concert to celebrate, and then had a beautiful shower with her friends and family. I am so thrilled about her wedding, she is marrying an amazing man who is perfect for her, and I know she is going to live a life full of happiness!

To top it off, my "little" brother had a baseball game at the local stadium under the lights. My Grandma, Aunt, and Uncle all came to see the game- so I got to see a good portion of my family! We had a great time and my brother had some good plays (even though his team did not win).

...and behind the plate

I spent a lot of time with the siblings, had a nice breakfast with my mom and aunt, and enjoyed a wonderful weekend with one of my best friends. All in all, it was a fantastic trip back home!
