30 Day Challenge

While I'm being unmotivated I was checking out some of my favorite blogs and I found Katie's!


She is doing a 30 Day Challenge and I thought this might be a good way for me to keep up with my blogging, think about where I've been in my life and where I want to go, and help people get to know who I really am! I am three days behind (yikes!) so I am going to catch up...starting NOW!

Day 1: Introduce, Recent Picture, 15 Interesting Facts

My name is Cass and I'm 24 years old. I graduated from Salve Regina University in 2008, moved to Boston, MA with my boyfriend and taught at an incredible school for incredible kids for 2 years. In July of this year I moved to Ohio (where hubs grew up) and got married...all within the same week. I love teaching but I'm finding it really difficult to get into a school right now and it's been a tough adjustment. I have an awesome family that I've always been close to. Being so far away has also been tough...it's caused a lot of tearful and sleepless nights and one roadtrip..so far. I have a brother who is a freshman in high school and sister who is in 8th grade. In a way I feel like they are almost like my kids because I was so much older than them growing up. It hurts that I can't be there for them during these fun, yet difficult, years. I have an amazing husband that I met in college, 2 cats that I adore, and a beautiful golden retriever puppy that is 4 months old. I have a 2,000+ sq. ft. home with very little furniture and way too much wallpaper, on 2+ acres of land with an unbelievable amount of leaves. I have some unbelievable friends who have stuck with me through some difficult times, and I am really blessed to have each and every one of them. I like to cook, take pictures and spend time with my niece who is 2 years old.
15 Interesting Facts

1. I love animals...all types...and when I'm feeling sad my hubs knows that he can take me to Petsmart and let me look at the animals up for adoption to make me feel better. (He also knows that he will have to talk me out of adopting at least one of them!)
2. I like to help people. I met some of my best friends while involved in community service during high school and college. It's also where I met the love of my life!
3. As a senior in high school I traveled to England and it was the best trip I've ever taken, the memories of that trip will forever stay in my heart, along with the people that helped make them.
4. I have an obsession with squirrels...and I will do anything to protect them from my car...including swerving into oncoming traffic or coming to a complete stop in the middle of the road. I try to feed them in my yard but hubs won't let me!
5. I love children and I want to have my own someday....but it isn't happening this year, or probably even next year...so don't hold your breath!
6. I have a terrible attention span and it led to an amazing friendship with a girl who I used to pass notes to under her door freshman year because she couldn't study with my constant need to DO something!
7. I have rescued two snapping turtles in the past 2 years because they were in the middle of the road. Neither turtle was appreciative and both times I almost lost one or more of my fingers.
8. I love football...mostly professional...but I have three favorite teams- the Giants, Cowboys and Colts. Don't ask...I have explanations but they really don't make sense to anyone but me!
9. I am a Yankees fan....but I don't tell people because usually it causes more trouble than I care to get into. I watch games online when no one is looking :-P (This was also the start of an amazing friendship in middle school!)
10. I have a deep and passionate love for Bon Jovi that could never be replaced by anything in the world...my parents started it when I was just a baby, and it will forever be in my soul.
11. That being said, I love country music and will blare it in any setting, any time....because it speaks to me and I love it.
12. I was always more of a Backstreet Boys Fan than *N Sync
13. My mom is my hero...even though she drives me crazy sometimes...I can never repay her for everything she did for me and all that she gave up to give me such a great life.
14. I cry ALL the time (I teared up writing #13) and hubs laughs because all it takes is a sentimental commercial to bring on the waterworks.
15. I am really self conscious, and I've never admitted it to anyone...not even myself.
